About Pope Globalization Academy Foundation (PGAF)
Mission
Vision
A robust Globalization Academy program that cultivates future leaders in high-demand global fields through a rigorous curriculum with an emphasis on literature, social studies, and foreign language, enhanced by experiential, global learning opportunities.
What We Do
Formed by a group of parents in 2015, the goal of the Pope Globalization Academy Foundation (PGAF) is to support the Academy’s administration, teachers, counselors, students, and staff with additional resources, globally-oriented experiential learning opportunities, and events. To achieve this goal, we raise funds, conduct community outreach to relevant global leaders, organizations, and companies, collaborate with the Pope administration and teachers, engage parents, and communicate events to the Pope Globalization Academy community. The PGAF has established bylaws and 501(c)3 tax-exempt status.

Cohort/Student Dues
- To successfully support student achievement and experience during their four years in the Globalization Academy, we ask each family for $150 in dues yearly.
- Globalization Academy dues differ from the school dues for all students that are paid during Greyhound Madness. There will be additional charges for field trips and other optional events, but dues will cover most of the smaller events we host.
- To pay your dues for the current academic year, click here.
- The Globalization Academy Foundation hopes that all Globez students will have the opportunity to participate in our events. If a student needs financial assistance or fee waivers related to participating in Globalization activities we offer financial assistance. Click here to learn more about our GAP Fund. In addition, please complete this application to request financial assistance (full/partial/payment plan).
We do not want money to come in the way of any Globez student being able to participate.
What is the difference between the Academy and the Foundation?
The Globalization Academy: The Globalization Academy refers to the educational program at Pope High School, which is overseen by the academic faculty under the leadership of Assistant Principal Lindsay Barnette. Students take the highest rigor classes in Social Studies and English offered at Pope High School, take advanced placement research and seminar classes, and graduate with four credits in a foreign language. Students participate in projects that connect local and global issues, and which are interwoven with curriculum standards. Students develop leadership, public speaking, and critical thinking skills. Through volunteer opportunities, experiential learning opportunities, and travel, students expand their worldview and prepare to take leading roles in a variety of employment fields. Combined, the Globalization Academy provides a unique and enhanced globally focused learning experience.
The Pope Globalization Academy Foundation (PGAF): The Foundation supplements the Academy’s curriculum by funding additional teaching and student resources, funding and organizing student extracurricular opportunities and experiential global learning opportunities, identifying and organizing volunteer opportunities to fulfill the International Student Diploma Seal (ISDS) requirements, and funding and organizing student relationship-building and recognition events.
- Who We Are: The Pope Globalization Academy Foundation (PGAF) is comprised of parent volunteers of current Globalization Academy students. We welcome and encourage all families of Academy students to become active members of the Foundation. Continued support is essential to the success and collaborative spirit of the Academy. Parents can either volunteer as an elected Board member, or volunteer to help with events throughout the year.
